About this Site

I created this site as a means of allowing residents in Knebworth to share their views about the emerging North Herts Local Plan efficiently. It occurred to me that it might easily be adapted to have a wider function. Currently, the site is Local Plan focussed, but anyone can create an account and create content here. If you are familiar with Wikipedia you should have no difficulties doing this, as it runs on the same MediaWiki software. Just click the little head and shoulders icon, currently in the top right corner, to access the account creation menu.

I have created a mailman mailing list, so people can collaborate via email. This seems slightly 1990's nowadays, but it means that people who don't 'do' social media are not excluded, so I would recommend that you join.

There is an existing Facebook group which dates from the Preferred Options Consultation. This consultation is finished, but you can see a summary of responses by following the link.

I have also incorporated Disqus into this site. This is a very widely used system for creating comments at the bottom of (for example) a news article. Note that each page has a 'Talk'(Talk:Knebworth_Village) page, which is the MediaWiki traditional mechanism. You can access this via the page tools menu, directly under the edit menu (with an icon of a little pen!).
