Peru apos;s Economic Drop Eases To 6.95 In September Better Than Forecast

LIMA, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Peru's economy contracted 6.95% year-on-year in September, kynghidongduong.vn its seventh consecutive monthly decline, although at a slower rate than previous months and better than analyst forecasts of a near 9% drop, tour cửu trại câu the government statistics agency said on Monday.

2 producer of copper, has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic and strict lockdown restrictions earlier in the year that hurt output of the metal.

The decline was less than the falls in previous months and the record drop of 40.5% in April, soon after the first case of the virus appeared in the country.

The INEI statistics body added that Peru's economy fell 14.49% in the first nine months of the year.
