Many people go to the extent of getting their own T-shirt printed. One can use anything for printing; it does not necessarily have to be a message. One can have a picture of scenery or that of his/her favorite actor. Another innovative concept that is gaining ground is having your family photo over your shirt. This is good business for the T-shirt manufacturing companies. Screen printing and digital printing are the two methods of T-shirt printing used nowadays. The time it takes to print on a T-shirt, is reduced due to the advent of modern machines.

Cotton has been around for centuries, it is the granddaddy of all t-shirt fabric. Cotton was first used for clothing way back in 2500 B.C. Throughout the years it has been the most popular fabric for making clothing. Production of cotton became much more efficient once Eli Whitney invented the Cotton Gin, which mechanically separated cotton from seeds, in the late 18th century.

If you have a team you can have your team logo on the front of all the T-Shirts and then each players name and number on the back. Or if you have a company and you want your logo with the persons name or position incorporated into the logo, this is easy to do.

You'll also need to think about the size of the design. What looks good on a piece of paper, might not look good on a T shirt. Can you see what it looks like online before you commit yourself? Can you ring up and ask the cheap T shirt printing company what they recommend?

Make sure you wear clothes depending on the people you expect to meet. Funny t-shirts can be of various kinds: Family Jokes, Adult Humour, Sex Jokes etc. You don't want to wear an Adult joke t-shirt to a kids only party!

Make sure the quality of your t-shirts is high. By scrimping on the cost for blank t-shirts you will be seriously diminishing the re-wear factor for your t-shirts. You want something which will last a good few washes and not shrug off the print straight away. Also, your wearer must be comfortable to want to wear your logo or slogan t-shirt. Let's say the staff at your company all got corporate t-shirts at your conference. People that like the fit and feel of the t-shirt will be all the more likely to wear it down the gym the following week.

A good T-shirt designer doesn't necessarily have to have their finger on the pulse of fashion. They might know what colours go well together, or what people will find funny, or would like to wear.

If you have a budget for your project, here are some ways to design your shirt very inexpensively: Limit your imprint colors to 1 or 2. Each additional color in the design will increase the price. Try to stick to a front chest or back only imprint. Adding more locations such as the back or sleeve as well will also increase your cost per piece. The color of the t-shirt will also effect your cost. White t-shirts are fairly inexpensive, color t-shirts are usually around a dollar more per shirt than white. Light color t-shirts can sometimes be cheaper than dark color t-shirts.
