A tourist in [/news/perth/index.html Perth] has been fined $13,000 after skipping hotel quarantine to go on a five hour nightclub partying session.
The 25-year-old man had flown into Perth from Adelaide on December 11 and was ordered to remain in hotel quarantine for 14-days in the city centre.
The next day, a routine compliance check by WA Police found he was missing from his room and not answering his phone, leading officers to arrest him when he returned.

The officers investigated the man's movements from when he stepped off the plane and discovered a stunning series of coronavirus restriction breaches over the space of a few hours.
The man had not traveled from Perth Airport directly to the hotel as instructed but had told his driver to visit a drive-through takeaway outlet.
When checking into the hotel he had not worn a protective mask and did not tell staff he was undergoing quarantine.
He then left his room to go to a supermarket and convenience store.
Later that night, the man broke quarantine again and left his hotel room to visit a nightclub in the Perth CBD for five hours with the same friend who had driven him from the airport.
